Mirala.......... a world nearly unnoted on Imperial charts.

When the first Explorator fleets arrived in the Mirala system they deemed Mirala unsuitable for human settlement, and, indeed, all other planets in the system. Over the countless centuries young men of nearby systems had heard of the terrible beasts on Mirala and sought to prove themselves warriors worth of the Imperium by hunting on Mirala. None returned and soon Mirala was considered a terrible demon infested world. All kept clear of it until tens of centuries ago one Imperial refugee transport was forced into orbit due to heavy damage.

The refugees landed and soon established a home. People spread across the world and soon small nations started springing up. Shortly after the battle on Terra, these nations soon grew to hate each other. Wars broke out, decimating the population of Mirala with millions dying each day.

Many rejected the Emperor. If the Emperor truly protected then would their old home world be destroyed? If the Emperor truly protected would they be strangling each other? But the Imperium was still ignorant of Mirala, still ignorant of its existence. The remaining Imperial loyalists sent out a distress call. The only ship to hear it was one strike cruiser of the Ultramarines, it's mission, to hunt down the retreating heretics and stop them.

When the Ultramarine strike cruiser arrived in orbit they saw a world torn apart by war and so filled with hate that massive piles of corpses were being made across the world and burned. They saw Imperial temples being torn down and Imperial troops being attacked and in their lust for revenge against Chaos, the Space Marines condemned the world to death.

Fifty-eight seconds before the Exterminatus was launched the one remaining early Miralan vessel under the command of a man named Campanus fired a salvo of rockets at the strike cruiser. The Ultramarines didn't see the shots coming and had been diverting all their power to their cannons, which were raining the Emperor's judgment down on the world. The rockets tore the strike cruiser apart.

Eventually the Wars on Mirala died, only due to the complete lack of men able to fight and the nations became secluded, only to be united over the course of history into four empires, each with a hatred and a sense of comradeship towards each other. The Imperium was hated, but soon forgotten. Indeed, it is now only a legend and the events of the Horus Heresy and everything up until now is totally unknown........
